![]() I then removed the slave cylinder to check for damage and found none (little did I know at the time there isn't really a way to check for a malfunctioning slave cylinder). Yesterday I bled the clutch with new fluid from German Auto Parts and had no luck. Also, when moving the shifter to reverse, it generates a quick but very harsh grinding. This problem only happens when the motor is running and engagement of the clutch begins almost immediately once I start to pull my foot off the clutch (~.5" from fully depressed). I should also mention that as of now, with the car off, I am able to shift gears fine. As of yesterday, I can not get the transmission into first or second. By the next day (Monday) the only way I could engage first gear was by going to second and then first. This past weekend I was driving the car and noticed a stiffness in the shifter which made engaging first and second gear harder than normal. All gears shifted the same as they did before the swap, clutch engagement was near midway on the pedal and everything else seemed good. Since the build, I have driven the car nearly 3,000 miles and not had a single transmission problem (until now). The transmission already had a Peloquin and a TDI 5th gear but other wise is stock. Included in this build was a southbend OFE SS 4 clutch (full face, 20% increase on the PP). Recently, I pulled the motor and swapped it for an OBDII vr from a B4 passat as part of my turbo project. it was a lot of work, but it feels much better and i learned a lot.I have a 93 Corrado VR6 with an O2A transmission, uses a hydraulic clutch. in the next video i will troubleshoot and install the 02j in this diy episode i show you how to take any base model 02j shift selector and make it into a 20% i finally got all my shifter rebuild videos together. ![]() in this video i remove the 02a shifter and cables from my 1999 mk4 golf. a little thinking and a little o2a short gear shift. also somehow i never noticed the stock today we cover installing an o2j shift box in an mk2 vw and go over vics corrado with an o2j also. more videos coming! stay tuned for an update video the transmission is complete and looks amazing! cant wait to see it bolted up to the vr5. The piece that broke on the o2a shifter box is actually a pretty easy fix but since ive already pulled it out its time to upgrade and all and all not a hard swap to do! went a lot smoother then i imagined and once i figured out how to properly put the tower in it was a little walkthrough on swapping out your o2a shift tower for an o2j shift tower. O2a To O2j With Goodies may be buying a mk2 gti to put it in tho, haven't deceided yet, got everything apart from the later shifter so wondered if i could use the o2a shifter i have in the basement, cheers!. I have an o2a gearbox i'm planning on using with a 20v in a mk1 caddy. i've got a complete 02j setup from an 05 audi a3 1.9tdi which on trial fitting looks like it will all work fine, however the gearbox cable bracket from the audi will not fit on the 02a gearbox as it. i'm also changing out the gear linkages and shifter tower to newer 02j parts. I'm in the process of fitting a 02a ctn gearbox in my corrado g60.
